Not only can clients of Skips Wigan arrange for the easy and swift delivery and collection of waste throughout the Wigan area, but our team regularly serves locations right across Lancashire and Greater Manchester – including Bolton.
Wherever you require skip hire Horwich, Lostock, Middlebrook, Little Lever, or elsewhere – we can help.
But how does the skip hire process work? In this article, we explain everything you need to do to ensure the simplest and most straightforward process.
1. Choose Your Location
Where should your skip be placed? Make sure there is suitable access for collection and delivery, and that your waste container will not get in the way or become a hazard.
Remember: you can place your skip on a road or public thoroughfare as long as you’re granted the right permit. This is the case for skip hire Bolton, Preston, and all other boroughs in the area.
Simply let us know if you need to do this, and, for a small extra fee, will complete all the paperwork to apply for a permit on your behalf from the local council.
2. Choose Your Skip
Skips Wigan can provide domestic, commercial, and industrial skips ranging from 2 cubic yards to 40 cubic yards in size – and they’re priced accordingly. Our smallest skips cost £110 to hire for up to three weeks.
This pricing structure remains the same whether you’re planning skip hire in Wigan, Chorley or any other location.
To prevent overspending, we recommend going for the largest size of skip that can be placed on your site, as this means that you’ll need to hire fewer containers overall.
You should consider how much waste your project is likely to produce before settling on your perfect skip size. If you’re not sure, simply get in touch with our team and we’ll be happy to assist you.
3. Select a Date and Time
You can use our handy skip hire form to choose the best date for the delivery of your container. You can select from either morning (8am-12pm) or afternoon delivery (1pm-5pm).
4. Pay for Your Skip
You can make a payment by card online or over the phone by calling us on 01942 597 358. In order to remain COVID-safe, we don’t currently accept cash payments in any of the locations to which we provide skip hire – Leyland, Wigan, or otherwise.
5. Wait for Delivery
All you need to do now is wait! We’ll deliver your skip to your desired location on the date you have requested for no extra cost.
6. Fill Your Skip
Now you can start to place all of the waste from your project in the skip. Be sure not to pile rubbish past the fill line, and take care not to place any restricted items in your container. These include:
- Wet concrete
- Special or clinical waste such as syringes
- Electrical items such as fridges, freezers, TVs, computers, and screens
- Gas containers
- Chemicals that are noxious or explosive
- Dangerous or offensive matter
- Oil and oil filters
- Plasterboard (unless it makes up less than 10% of the load)
Get in touch if you’re not sure about something you plan to put in your skip
